Looking forward to a Japanese Food Crawl in NYC!

Tonight, the 5th anniversary of my becoming an Ex-Smoker (squee!), I have plans to go into Manhattan with my dear old friend Nicole to meet up with a slew of other friends for an Adventure in Japanese Cuisine.

I am, and a few others of us are, rather ignorant when it comes to Japanese food. I don’t eat fish, so sushi is always out.  When I do go with family and friends to the local sushi places, I tend to get edamame and chicken tempura or teriyaki. Boring. Tonight however, a few of my friends are serious gourmands who are willing to guide us through the intimidating menus and helping us choose delicious tidbits that we normally wouldn’t.  I can’t wait to try some real ramen!  Will the packaged, freeze dried college dorm staple that I’ve eaten for years be ruined for me afterward?  Hopefully!
